About me

Why sport psychology?

My passion for psychology, performance and mental well-being started around 12 years ago when I was diagnosed with generalised anxiety. I use to black out under extreme bouts of pressure, which I thought was normal. Only after I opened up to a performance psychologist did I start to understand my anxiety and deal with the issues in order to perform at an elite level. I see this as an opportunity to make a difference and help those who are seeking the support to amplify their sporting performance.

Background

I recently finished my masters in sport and exercise psychology through Staffordshire University. I’m currently enrolled on BASES SEPAR as a sport psychologist in training. I’ll be offering a professional supervised sport psychology service to athletes from various sports. I have been a professional cricketer for the best part of 10 years and am currently playing for Somerset County Cricket club. As mental health and well-being has always been a passion of mine, I have decided to pursue becoming a sport psychologist alongside my cricket career. The knowledge I’ve gained from completing my masters will be backed up by personal experience which I’ve acquired from my cricket career.
